Long time no posts. Inks on King Arthur have kept me busy. And illustrations for Veja and Folha de São Paulo. And the classes at Quanta. And a few other things, to be announced soon. Sleep, who needs sleep?

And a blog for King Arthur, now that I am half-way through the book.

HQMix

September 03

HQMix is Brazil's largest and best known comic awards. This year was it's 21st edition, and I was invited to be part of the organization committee. It was great fun and an honour to be part of. The event happened on the 21st August, and there are plenty of photos and videos.

LFCC

Had a great time at the LFCC - I had a table next to Phil Jimenez and John Charles, sold some books, posters and plenty of sketches, met Chris Achilleos and saw old friends - here are a few photos.

As the Graphic Novel Outlaw: The Legend of Robin Hood will be in bookstores in the UK, USA and Australia on June 1st, Tony Lee and I have put up a blog, that we will be updating as much as possible over the next month with previews, sketches, news and links.

ART DEADLINES

April 01

So, I've been doing some oil painting classes with the amazing Lise Forell and this weekend I'll take part in an exhibition with other students. Here are the details and here are a couple of pieces that won't be on show…

Deadlines vary a bit from place to place. Newspapers tend to have 2 or 3 hours for an illustration or storyboard; weekly magazines a couple of days; monthly magazines a week or so. For a monthly comic book, 22 pages in 28 days. King Arthur will be 144 pages in 9 months.

Doing something with no deadlines every once in a while is a nice change...
